JAPANESE FIRMS INCREASE INVESTMENTS IN ADVANCED TECH IN VIETNAM
According to the Japan Trade Promotion Organization (JETRO) report, in 2019, the rate of Japanese enterprises investing in Vietnam was 66%, and 64% of those businesses responded that they had plans to keep expanding their business in Vietnam in the future. Also, based on a survey conducted by NNA – a Japan research company, Vietnam was voted by Japanese enterprises as the most promising investment destination in 2020 among Asia countries, surpassing both India and other countries in ASEAN. | GOOGLE, MICROSOFT ACCELERATE SHIFFTING PRODUCTION TO VIETNAM
Google is set to begin production of its Pixel 4A with its partners in northern Vietnam as soon as April. The company also plans to manufacture its next-generation smartphone in the second half of this year directly from Vietnam. Meanwhile, Microsoft is scheduled to start producing its Surface line, including notebook and desktop computers, in northern Vietnam in the second quarter of this year at the earliest.
